A weird problem has just developed. When my tach reaches about 3000 RPM it falls back to zero. When I stop at a light or stop sign it comes back to life. The engine does just fine but the tach acts like the engine has died.
Check all electrical connectors for the tach, including at the coil. Clean and apply dielectric grease to each connector. Clean and treat the instrument panel ground as well.
