Technical Stop / Start System Weirdness....

Thank you. If it was clutch or gear sensor, it would be likely to do it all the time would it? Whereas just now it's in the mornings and works at night?

Correct, take the advice being offered and change the battery to a correct SS type regardless of how it behaves under test. Mine behaved identically and was cured 100% with a new battery.

Thank you. Was yours the same in that the start stop would work, then engine would kick in again even though you hadn't touched the clutch? I'll get a new battery soon. Just booked an MOT & service for 27th Feb so it'll be an expensive few weeks for me

If you want to wait due to cost, simply disable the ss when you start the car each time this actually helps charge the battery as there's no repeated starting.
