General Stilo Owners.....How About Some Support?

I just got the job jetweed and the car sales in Cyprus are prety low this season. They don't allow me to park the car in my parcking place and i have to leave it outside but what can i do. I bought my Stilo 8 months ago and i will not sell it for anything

There was mention of the new Astra earlier. From what i remember in the pics ive seen, its got a fair bit of Stilo styling in it, with the side panels and door areas, the way the car folds in at the door handles for instence and its stance as well

you say compare the stilo abarth to a focus, but thats an unfair comparision

try comparing the stilo abarth to a focus RS, now theres a a fair playing field, and sorry but the stilo just don't cut it.

don't get me wrong, i'm part of a fiat family, the stilo looks the mutts nuts, but ford have done wonders with the RS!

and don't even go near comparing the abarth with an RX8, i mean, hot hatch, or hot coupe, there is no choice...

and as far as style goes imho europe has gone mad, after spending the last 2 months looking for a replacement for my Sei, when i finally narrowed it down to 2 cars, they were both Japanease manufacturers, all the EU had to offer was the corsa (ew!) the new punto (ew! ew! EW!) and the dull Ka and overpriced fiesta (which i don't see a punto resemblance at all)

The fair playing field would be Stilo Abarth against Focus ST170 - NOT the RS. The Abarth and the ST170 both list at £16K-ish whereas the RS is £20K. The RS is the next level up of hot hatch and is deisgned to compete with other 200bhp hatches such as the Golf R32, 147 GTA and Civic Type-R. The Abarth and ST170 are designed to be "softer".

You have got a point about the RX8 though. It is a different league again.

So, at least I was right about the RX8 then (and also about the Stilo I think, although I don't get to drive it much )

THe RX8 is about the same price as the Focus RS... but on Top Gear the other week it did the same lap time as a BMW M3. For our overseas chums, Top Gear is an alleged motoring programme (which usually panders to the f. rich)

Still love the Stilo though (or have I said tha once already?!) [^]

Top Gear, yep, it's a dreamers show, full of exotica and not at all in the real world, I have started a campaign and asked everyone on this forum to email Jezza and get him to feature some FIATs and show the world cars that people can actually afford to buy and drive. He's such a self-indulgent ass!

I've just bought my Stilo to replace my Seicento Schumacher. I'm not a fan of the 5 door but as we don't have rugrats the 3 door is perfect. My lease 03 reg Focus goes back on the 23rd so I need a bigger car for work. The Focus is a fine driving machine but it's no Italian. My wife has a 3 door Astra Sri with the S pack on it and it's boring as hell and comes with the worst gearchange ever. As far as I was concerned there was only one choice and I bought it. It may depriciate like a stone and will probably play up but it looks and drives really good.
