Well I can't get pics to upload i'm affraid! Site is gubbed! Cant insert into post, or stick them in my gallery!
There are 3 posts, 2 one colour and one another, the single you don't touch as that adjusts side to side movement, you just want the other two for up and down. Be prepared to take about 45min to do the pair properly though depending upon what sort of access you have behind the light units.

Vlad's picture and the eLEARN diagram above only show 2 and there's only 2 on each of my headlights.![]()
If you did it with the car parked close to a wall then you'd see very little movement of the beam for each turn of the screw but you said you'd turned the screw 50 times. I didn't think there were that many threads in the screws.
If you turned the screws anti-clockwise (looking from the back of the headlights) too much, that may have caused them to come out of the adjuster mechanisms inside the headlight.
