If it's the ones I found on Google just there, they look decent...would need to see them on. I'd go black personally and all black, no chrome lip. White could contrast well with the dark colour of the car though...hmm.

I do kind of still think something like a bright orange could contrast nicely though :D Those purple blades that're going on FF looked decent on the dark Stilo being sold off too :)
 
OK. update on the stilo... pretty terminal. it has two bent rods on cylinder 3+4 and they were also full of oil and water...

HeadGasket is weirdly in one peice and shows little signs of wear :S:S.

the cylinders when at TDC sit obviously lower in the bore than 1+2. they also lean to one side and where as 1+2 have slight play in the rings 3+4 are stuck solid... completely snug fit in the engine and are twisted, so there higher on one side than the other...


so im saying bent rods and a new engine is in order :). Woop. just what i wanted.
 
Oh dear...sorry to hear that. Sounds like water has got in to 3+4 somehow! and water doesn't compress hence the bend conn: rod.
Will you able to get a replacement engine easy enough?
 
the plan is replacement bottom end with a alfa 2.0 :) running different cams and a max safe skim with hopefully some fettling to the head and TB:).

ive got alot of time till this gets sorted due to money, so i might aswell get stuff sent away and worked on in the mean time.

(im aiming for 160bhp) nothing massive, and i know, not rubber burning but tbh. id be happy with that highly modest output from a 2.0 and probably the only 2.0 stilo in the uk :)
 
Ah... didn't know the Alfa 1.6 & 2.0 engines were compatable with the Stilo range...good show. Would have thought you could achieve that figure without the need for expensive cams. My old 131s was runing at 155bhp with standard cams...Torque is King.
 
well the alfa 2.0 range of cams are the identical spec to C&B fast road cams for the stilo. so ill just get them.

and im still working out the compatability. its not a straight fit... but what is.
 
also on the bhp. The alfa is 155 standard (2.0) so would be sitting at that / just over with good induction. were as the fiat engine would need a good 20 bhp increase to just match it. so mightaswell start with the alfa block
 
OK. so having trouble sourcing either a fiat or a alfa block for a reasonable price!.

been looking online at pictures and rebuild threads. and the 2.0 block is identical to the 1.8 and the heads are also identical bar the center is designed different to allow for the second plug. but the layour and gaskets are the same......

the inlett problem is solved and no longer a issue, and aslong as i can get a exhaust manifold and downpipe to match whatever engine i end up with then thats sorted.

so if i get a alfa block i need to wire up some coils. and thats it!!!.

so if anyone sees a 2.0 alfa T-Spark complete engine around for reasonable money (150-200) or even a fiat 1.8 engine for similar/alittle less money then lemme know!.

i cant travel either obviously so would need delivery.



I can get a alfa 1.8 for a ok price. but dont want to settle on a 1.8 if a 2.0 might be out there! :p .
 
In the end .. if you cant sort a exsaist mani , buy some Exhaust pipe as a meter or so .. , buy a alfa mani . cut your stelow off at the top , after teh bend ,, cut Stright exhust pipe , get danni to weld weld it . and it can be easy peasy sorted .
 
lol, i think the alfa and fiat manis are the same. but the alfas do not have the twin cat upfront. so can loose them at the same time then and keep my fiat one for MOT MOT MOT

2003 plate stilo 1.8 on 70k XD.

going to donor it for most of its bits as the body is in good nick but is a horrible color!!!! but means the blue stilo is going to be mechanically soooooo good by the end of it..


and ill have two cars again by 8pm tomorrow!

phoned at 9-10-10:30-11-11:30. kid answered on one and said his dad was there. then it just hung up. now he wont answer..... advert has been deleted of the web too......


so i have now filled james's car with fuel for no reason. and took out insurance on a car ill never see. ****ing raging as hell!
