General Starter/Flywheel Problem

Hi

I know have not been on for a while, but thats because my Punto was overheating and needed a head gasket so I have moved onto a Ford Fiesta Zetec...

My Mum now needs helps with her Grande Punto, a few months ago she was having problems starting it so the starter motor was replaced. This did nothing so they decided that it may be the flywheel. We got a second hand single mass one which was fitted it into the car. It is still the same now but smells like burning plastic. We have to rock or roll the car until you can hear something clicking to get it to start.

Does the Grande use a duel mass flywheel? If so, any ideas of where we can get one?

I have searched the forum but cannot find any similar problems.

I think the diesels use DMFs, is it a diesel?

No it's a 1.2 8V petrol
