Technical Start stop fail - engine light appeared

Hi.
As I was sat waiting at a junction, the start stop light came on in the centre console under the radio.
The engine light came on and there was a message saying stop start was unavailable- check engine.
As I've only had the car a month from purchase, I've only seen it do the stop/start procedure twice both times when sat waiting to pick someone up.
Is there a way to disengage this, and stop the light appearing? Or is there a problem I'd need to look into?

Also, the display that shows when I should change up and down gears isn't showing that icon any more.. assume its linked

I've had this fixed.. they scanned the error and DPF filter cleaned.
Less than a week.later its reappeared.. what else could it be?
