today i have managed to pick up a punto mk1 sporting half alloy half plastic inlet manifold and also the engine loom for £40 delivered....now ive had a read thru the other conversions but can anyone tell me what other bits i need from the mk1 as this chap has 2 complete that he is breaking up(y)(y)

Have a look in the guide I wrote, might give you some more things to pick up while you can.

Right, new gauge fitted and believe it or not the cheap guage was over reading by 0.2 bar. Not too bad really. No guarantee I'm not just lucky however.

i have got halfway thru ur thread and the only thing i have seen is the alternator as i have the ecu,bravo/brava tb,wiring loom, inlet manifold and alternator now so as far as i can see thats its for mk1 sporting bits or have i missed something:worship:

All you need from the mk1 is inlet/outlet/injector rails loom, ecu, codebox, key

I used the cinq alternator but you need to space it out to match it with the pulley.

dont need to worry about the codebox and key as using the cinq key and the code is going to be removed from the ecu when it gets remapped(y) in which case i have everything i need from the punto sporting:D:D

ermm you not need to drive it to the remap place :p?

Guessing you havent come accross this:

You will also need some punto HT leads, but best to buy new. I used 1.2 16v alternator, but is spaced very far over into the mount in comparison with some other conversions ive seen. Think this is because of the stilo crank wheel.

errr no i hadnt:eek: but very helpful and i have pretty much everything if not here its in stock at work:D
getting some new kv85 leads shortly,at the moment im just getting all the bits and pieces together and in the meantime getting all the cleaning and painting done so when engine and box arrive i can hit it hard and get it done(y)

the bits i was waiting for have now arrived with some added bits i wasnt expecting like an ecu with code ring and the 2 keys with ignition barrel and an exhaust manifold why they got put in god knows cause i dont unless they were supposed to goto someone else and they got mixed up with my parts:confused:
the chap hasnt rung me to say he has made a cock up so i might just make up an exhaust using that manifold and then i can save up for the supersprint at a later date...missing having it on the road:cry:need to get my finger out and the weather needs to improve:bang:

IF you are getting it mapped and immob removed then you don't need ignition barrel code box.

But yeah you got everything there, am sure i used the alternator from the cento.

P.s Forgot get a downpipe from the mk1 sporting too, but they are only like 30 quid brand new!

front pipe is only £12.74 and we have one in stock but going to have a hunt round at work for a flange and make my own front pipe so its the same bore all the way thru and can use our in stock item as a template(y)
as i said these couple of bits must of been for someone else as i only ordered the engine wiring loom, alternator and inlet manifold so the rest is a result:D but as u said its going to be decoded anyway but i can sell it and claw some pennies back towards something else:D

Another week has passed and had got sod all done due to being too knackered when i got in from work but tonight i managed to get all the front end dropped out ready to get it all cleaned and painted and tomorrow get all the floor pans stone chipped up and remove the mountings for the neons that were under there till i got the car:D
need to get a couple of new bits for the front like bump stops as mine have disintegrated and only 1 more brake pipe and thats only because the 11mm head is more round than anything where someone had a go in the past and a tiny bit of corrosion but the rest are still like new(y)
full set of yellow poly bushes from the chaps in poland
New tie rods and track rod ends
pair of lower arms as i think my ball joints have to much play but im fussy:)
Also thinking of replacing the front cross member and headlight panels as for some reason they look like they have been done before and any gaps filled over with what looks like white silicone and the front chassis rail isnt welded to the front panel in the engine bay.......now this doesnt seem right to me:confused: should it be welded to the front panel or not???:( i know with my escorts and capris they are welded to each other(y)
Also in the last week ive got off ebay a cinq abarth steering wheel £33 delivered,it needs a little clean but is very good condition and certainly better than the tired yellow one in the cinq now also got a pair of brand new coil packs for £10 delivered so was quite happy with them:D
