fiat clearly do a 1.3 sporting if hes driving one!!they just don't sell it in the UK!!

There is no such thing as a 1.3 sporting there is 2 1.4s and a 1.9 they do a 1.3 mjet dynamic  i just went on the fiat websight

Just thought i would give a quick update. As you know i took the dud 1.3 back nearly 3 weeks ago now, still not got my new one. I have been contacting motorpoint nearly every day for updates on the new one they are sourcing me, and until today no luck. Today i phoned the general manager again and he tells me he has placed an order for a brand new 57 unregisterd UK model in black! He will be calling me on monday to confirm delivery date. Problem is that he says its costing him £10,200 and i only paid £9000 so i think he wants the extra cash. I will agree to split the extra £1200 with him if that is the case but i still think as he is in the wrong he should cover all the extra cost. Hopefully i wont have to wait to long now!

Better hope he aint reading this thread as you have just shown your hand, ie. willingness to pay an extra sum of money.
Anyway, hope it all works out and you get it for no extra cash. I really can't see Motorpoint taking the risk of upsetting you at this late stage. You will certainly notice the difference when you get your proper 1.9, goes like stink!

thats good news, he must not be able to get an imported 1.9, so looks like you'll be getting a UK 1.9 , brand new... now If you don't pay any difference, then you've got a spanking new, dealer supplied 1.9 GPS for £9k!! bloody good, seeing as I paid £11,100 for mine! lol...

ok here is the news, i was told it would be arriving friday, it didnt, now im told monday. Got an invoice today, motorpoint have invoiced me for an extra £1000 on top of the £9000 i paid for a brand new 57 plate uk spec gps 130 with 6 months tax and a full tank of deisel. Sound fair. he told me the car is costing him £10,500 plus £77 tax plus £45 deisel so he is taking a £622 loss, plus im getting a much newer car. Do you guys think im getting the compensation i should be???

hhmmm , not sure... you're still getting a decent deal, BUT you have already paid for a british spec 1.9 sporting, and they didn't deliver.... seems they owe you the car you paid for... doesn't matter what its costing him, he made the mistake in the first place... ask him if he's informed the DVLA that he has a 1.3 sporting registered at a 1.9 sporting, and say "would you like me to notify them that you are registering 1.3 sportings as 1.9 sportings? " see how that goes....

I would say you have every right not to pay any extra. Surely you signed an agreement for a 1.9 GPS for 9k and that is what they have to give you.
I was going with that to start with, but i paid for a pre reg 4 month old 07, this is a new 57. Problem is after a few weeks of him looking for the car i paid for, i said just get me a new one and we will come to an agreement on price. So i may have shot myslef in the foot!! I will try bang an extra couple of hundred out of him. Thanks for the comments!

As for him telling the DVLA, i got the V5 for the dodgy one through today, i will take that back to him. He must have told the DVLA as he has now sold the one i took back as a 1.3.

ah but i phoned fiat super saver. its £300 for paint and £200 for delivery. i think he actually got it there. i know what you mean though, He wont be making a loss cos he still made money off me on the initial purchase. Buggers!

Tommy?
Were you seriously expecting him to make a loss on the deal? This is a car dealer remember. He will have scoured the country to find the cheapest deal on a new one and will at least have covered all his costs and probably made on it.
So he has told you he lost £622 eh?.......remember these are the same people who told you it was a UK spec car.
As far as he will be concerned he has done what he said he would (and taken an extra grand off you at the same time!! which makes me laugh considering the overall situation) If you now go back demanding more "compensation" he will f*** you right off......I certainly would.

They way I see it he hasnt replaced your original car, he has taken it back and sold you a newer one for a higher price, if he was replacing it he wouldnt have taken the extra £1k off you.

basically your paying 1k more because its not pre reg. I wouldn't of paid more than an extra £500 it been new considering the other import you got had no milege on it. I wouldof tried to get a years tax as well. As others have said its a good deal but you have had the hassle of it all.

oh well, i cant be arsed now, i just want the car, way i see it i still have got it for 10k which is cheaper than any deal i have seen. thanks for the comments

just put it all behing you, and enjoy your new car fella, you'll be happy then (y)

and next time, buy from a dealer ;)

Tommy im with you, things like this just wear you out dont they, and lets be honest your getting a good deal and just happy to unload that car ! and i suspect hes making a loss on the car he originally sold you, mate your getting a deal 9995 is a bargain !good luck with the new one, what colour you having ?

I bought from a fiat dealer and it was delayed but there where never able to give me a date just estimate. It might not be there fault however if its coming direct from fiat they have no idea of knowing the exact day it is arriving so must be internally sourced!
