Technical Speedometer NOT working on Fiat Seicento Sporting 1998

Hello everyone

The speedometer on my Seicento Sporting 1998 S reg has just stopped working. It was fine yesterday. I've not long had this car but totally love it. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it and how to fix it ( idiots guide ) I've looked for a manual but can not find one. Really want my yellow beast all better. Any help would be greatly appriciated

The factory manual "Seicento Technical Manual" is in 3 parts in the Downloads.

Chances are it's an electrical problem, so, starting with the connector for the speed sensor (on top of the differential, back middle of the gearbox) clean up the contacts on the electrical connectors, smear with vaseline or silicone grease.

Worthwhile checking the gearbox oil level -- sometimes failed speedo drive is an early warning of impending gearbox doom!
