Hi Everyone,
I'm going to be selling my car in a few weeks time & would just like to get some feedback from any members that may be interested in buying it or some advice on what price i should advertise it up for sale, i was going to sell it on eBay, but was thinking that here would be the best place as I know that people will not just view as an old battered car for sale & that it is something that is more than that, I've owned it for around 11 years & it has been one of the best cars i have ever owned, since ownership it has not seen a British winter & has been used as my daily run about for work from March to October (no gritting salt) & left SORN between 4-5 months, while out of the country travelling it has always started every time on my return & has never let me down while owning it, the body work needs some TLC (see pics) but the underneath doesn't have any rust from what i have seen & also from the M.O.T inspections, the engine, gear box, clutch etc works as it should, I replaced two new shocks a while ago & also new discs, last years mot it failed on rear cylinders & rear shoes, so fitted two new rear cylinders & rear brake shoes, both headlight reflectors were loose & the beam motors didn't work either, i eventually sourced two used headlights & after two more re-tests it passed with only one advisory (corroded rear exhaust silencer) I've seen a replacement from Poland on eBay for £54.79 with free delivery, i would certainly replace it if i was going to keep it, it hasn't done many miles since last M.O.T so it should sale though another M.O.T, has a Kenwood stereo c.d player & USB source, the radio doesn't work as you need an adaptor to connect it to the arial, i just put all my music onto a micro USB stick to listen to music, i replaced a few years ago the standard front & back speakers ( as they where shot ) i think Kenwood's front & pioneer rear, sounds really good & fairly loud without much distortion, have a spare Schumacher alloy, spare brand new air filter & a pair of brand new track rod ends & a spare clutch cable, also have the old headlights for spares, i have done all the oil changes myself & have also been using ZX1 friction reducer additives to the engine & also the gearbox, i bought the car at roughly 37,000 & it has now done just over 70,000, the reason i am selling it, is that i am retiring early & will be leaving the U.K for some time, possibly never returning, i would keep it if i had somewhere to store it, but i know leaving it for over a year or more is not good so i need a good home for for it, has a few months M.O.T left & my insurance also runs out shortly, sorry for the long rant but this car has meant a lot to me & i would like it to go to someone that appreciates it & wont scrap it after a few years......
Cheers
Baz
P.s if you look on this site you will see tracking, headlight M.O.T & also clutch cable problems, hence new track rod ends, headlights & spare clutch cable.....
