General snapped airbox?

General snapped airbox?

I wouldn't normally entertain that kind of thing, but there is something satisfying about going back into a busy shop and presenting them with proof in front of customers to the effect that they were trying to rip you off. It has a kind of "stick that up your ar5e" effect really.

I think a few people's ears pricked up when I did it too

So Mr Monty's car is shiny then? (y) I'll have to borrow it occasionally, just so I can admire it and know that I have a full house of lights :p

just a bit its filthy after the rain today and the old airfield runway blast to and from work

could be argued do you need to check the GP's lights with the bulb failure monitoring though :p

Wow, really shiny! I'm impressed - hope mine comes up that nicely when I get the body work sorted - some **** or series of ****s have ruined one side of it. Dings from car park damage and scratches where it looks like a bicycle has gone into it. I am sure it will look a treat on the FIAT Forum stand at Silverstone :ROFLMAO:

I never knew such a device existed on the GP! OMG why don't I know this stuff?!

T14086 - Hes probs talking crap.. not saying he is but there is a doubt... how the hell is a air box going to snap while its sat doing nothing... seems as tho hes got his GSR and tried fitting it and snapped it and now trying to claim off fiat... his gear box is probs goosed because he shows off ' or trying to show off' doing burn outs in his brand new car ... (n)

sounds like he has more money than sense (n)

for one im not talking crap! two. within 3 days of having the car the black glue on the air box started to seperate. 4. i reported it to fiat & they said they cant do nothing but book me in for a repair. this all happend before i got my GSR. and tbh i aint that stupid to remove 2 bolts & a few clips. so how can i break it?

tyres at 4k, jeez what the hell were you doing? Not suprised they are questioning the gearbox fault!

By the way its 'the dealer is a W A N KE R' not Fiat, dealerships are a franchise of Fiat thus I changed the thread title.

I don't even think its the dealer who is a W aN k er, its the driver! Hes just proven that he's heavy footed enough to destroy a front set of tyres in 4k miles? obviously knackered his airbox while fitting an induction kit, which in theory has screwed up his warranty for fixing it anyway, and then tries to get the dealer to fix the gearbox after admitting to constantly wheelspinning his car!

Its folk like that who make it harder for us honest folk to get stuff done on our warranties!(n)

I dont talk the brown stuff, You have freely admitted that you have a Heavy foot and do wheelspins and burnouts(burnouts especially will take a lot of your tyres lifetime away) and I cannot see a dealership being that daft to make the claim that your tyres are soo badly worn after just three months just to get a few more bucks out of you! As for the glue thing, strange how they wont fix it because they think you have lent on it when fitting your GSR eh?;) oh, and if they do a diagnostic and find that you have been over revving your car at take off/burnout through the ECU, it will confirm their right not to fix under warranty!

I have been a regular on this site for about 1 1/2 years and never heard so much crap come out of one persons mouth!

i dont care if you have been a regular for 1 1/2 years, your still a prick. how am i spost to leen on the air box when fitting a gsr when the air box would be off anyway? ( ermmm stupid....) if you dont know what your talking about dont post nothing! i came on here for help & advice not for someone like you who thinks they invented FIAT

This is a family forum, watch your language :bang:

Why did you fit a GSR when you knew there was a warrentee claim for the airbox then?

the air box broke before i got a GSR, i couldnt drive my car anymore. so i brought a GSR for the time beging then i had my repair booked for the 29th of jul & i took my GSR off a day before then put the old box back on with abit of tape & took it too them.

A GSR seems to be a very expensive 'stop-gap'...methinks there is something smelling of fishies here...
