General snapped airbox?

General snapped airbox?

hmm slate the dealer
rip through your tyres
have gearbox problems
have airbox 'issues'
all done on a public forum with your number plate on show (y)

Awesome isn't it. Plenty of evidence for them to reject his claim now :worship: A lot of the main dealers Fiat tech's come on this forum ;).

Unless he thought he was just being 'hard' saying he smoked his tyres in 4,000 miles.

And what is that suppost to mean ?
Well you have done/admitted to a number of things that a dealer may use in rejecting your claim.

By naming your dealer, and by having your numberplate visible in pics, you have made a Fiat Tech's job very easy to reject your claim, I can nearly guarentee if the Tech at your dealership isnt on here, then they have been emailed the link by one of the Techs on here...whoops!!

Okay then (Y)

Well I never. I've missed all this fascinating stuff, and now it looks as if it's over.

But: re tyres, gearboxes and life in general...

these things are not designed for track use. For competition purposes (or the equivalent on public roads  ) the cars should be heavily modified. And not be expected to be repaired under warranty.

As the beloved Cindy once said: "Girls just wanna have fun"; but not at someone else's expense, please.

a quick look at the tire walls inside and out for bulges or tears can be the difference between a replacement tire or a Pine box

Pine:eek: bit posh, whats wrong with cardboard.

I wouldn't normally entertain that kind of thing, but there is something satisfying about going back into a busy shop and presenting them with proof in front of customers to the effect that they were trying to rip you off. It has a kind of "stick that up your ar5e" effect really.

Depends what it is though, sometimes its genuinally hard to prove so you err on side of caution which can often be wrong but not intenionally.

for one im not talking crap! two. within 3 days of having the car the black glue on the air box started to seperate. 4. i reported it to fiat & they said they cant do nothing but book me in for a repair. this all happend before i got my GSR. and tbh i aint that stupid to remove 2 bolts & a few clips. so how can i break it?

Stick not 100% sure what you mean by this black glue:confused:

Lets just hope for your sake and that of your warranty that Glyn Hopkin of Milton Keynes dont have any members of staff on FF then ey!

Theres quite a few DET's on here, and a few I know of that read FF but dont show themselves.

LOL.....

Not like you...and with all that popcorn in the cupboard just waiting:)

Andy Monty I do check my vehicle regularly, which is why it was at ATS in the first place ;) And if I didn't care for it, why would I take it for an aircon service and have some ATS bloke check something for me?

I check my oil regularly, replace the windscreen wipers like they're going out of fashion and I even check all my lights occasionally (the back ones are fun as some cars don't give quite the necessary reflection :p).

The car even gets premium fuel more often than not... And I also have all my cars serviced regularly.

It's what any car lover should do for their baby!

i have my car service twice a year :) lol and detailed every year with a glaze top up every 3 months :)

alls i can say is B******S!! there is no way a air box is gonna 'Break' as you say it has... you have broken it !!! ive had 3 GP's serviced countless GP's and spoke to a friend at fiat today and he confirmed he has NEVER seen a broken air box !! CAN OF WORMS HAS BEEN OPENED HERE

I don't even think its the dealer who is a W aN k er, its the driver! Hes just proven that he's heavy footed enough to destroy a front set of tyres in 4k miles? obviously knackered his airbox while fitting an induction kit, which in theory has screwed up his warranty for fixing it anyway, and then tries to get the dealer to fix the gearbox after admitting to constantly wheelspinning his car!

Its folk like that who make it harder for us honest folk to get stuff done on our warranties!(n)

And thats why fiat brought the over revving thing in because of childish people doing soo called clever 'Burnouts and wheel spins' not clever and dont impress anyone other than chavs

Dont talk S H I T! i dont constantly wheelspin i said i have done the odd wheel spin! & the air box glue melted if you can READ! dont come on here chatting rubbish if you dont know what your talking about.

Listen... you have come on here thinking you know the car in and out... people on here have had GP's since they been out... me being one of them.... and other people are mechancally minded (agen me being one) and they do talk sense too...even if you dont

I dont talk the brown stuff, You have freely admitted that you have a Heavy foot and do wheelspins and burnouts(burnouts especially will take a lot of your tyres lifetime away) and I cannot see a dealership being that daft to make the claim that your tyres are soo badly worn after just three months just to get a few more bucks out of you! As for the glue thing, strange how they wont fix it because they think you have lent on it when fitting your GSR eh?;) oh, and if they do a diagnostic and find that you have been over revving your car at take off/burnout through the ECU, it will confirm their right not to fix under warranty!

I have been a regular on this site for about 1 1/2 years and never heard so much crap come out of one persons mouth!

He has relised that he has done wrong he has contridicted his self all over the forum.. only 3 days ago he posted he had bought a exhaust and a gsr, which i dont think is a gsr.... cos in his pics dont look like one... i may be wrong but ihave only seen a select few and they all say gsr on them.... i cant see it on his.... i seriously hope fiat look in to the ecu.... actually i know they will.. cos when mine went in for a gearbox repair they checked my ecu to see if it had been overevved.. and good thing was it hadnt..

This is a family forum, watch your language :bang:

Why did you fit a GSR when you knew there was a warrentee claim for the airbox then?

Adam mate... he cant controll his language.. cos he knows hes wrong ...

i dont care if you have been a regular for 1 1/2 years, your still a prick. how am i spost to leen on the air box when fitting a gsr when the air box would be off anyway? ( ermmm stupid....) if you dont know what your talking about dont post nothing! i came on hereforhelp & advice not for someone like you who thinks they invented FIAT

The above in bold probs relates to you! if you cant speak nice and hold you mouth then dont bother posting.... it really annoys me how... us looking after our cars get treated badly beacuse some sad persons admits he burns out his tyres in 4k! and then retracts his statment by saying ' i dont always do it' obviously you do.. other wise you wouldnt of had 3 new tyres

A GSR seems to be a very expensive 'stop-gap'...methinks there is something smelling of fishies here...

He bought it to keep on... and bought an exhaust at the same time apprently..... thing is he broke his box getting it off and is now trying to claim of fiat for the airbox and gearbox... which he broke both off by sounds off it :(

oooh someones thrown their toys out of the pram!;)

First off, you've made this personal now, so i'll make this very brief.

I never pretend to know everything, thats just dangerous!:bang:

while i have not invented FIAT(eh?) I have had 5 puntos, including 2 grande's and a hell of a lot of other fiats, 12 in total! all of which have been driven by careful owners, unlike yourself by the looks of it!

oh and its MR Pr1ck to you mate!:life:

GP1416valver clearly loves his car and had top-trumped everyone with his servicing I am sure! :p

Mr T, I can appreciate erring on the side of caution - but the point was - KwikGit man was trying to suggest to me that I should replace brand new tyres... Literally had many, many mm in which to drive on. Not like a tread depth thing was needed as there was so much tread! I think he was simply trying to get more work.

I don't trust them at all! As I said in my post from much before - they were a convenient way in which to get an aircon service, which was OK. I go elsewhere for everything else :D
