Sig sizes

I think we should have a maximum sig size, say a maximum height and width, like they do on some forums.

I dont mean to be a kill joy or anything, but peoples sigs are getting sooooo massive that its getting hard to read some threads and soon we are going to be getting one reply per page!

What do you reckon Ben?

Can you not remove the middle 'sweep' so that it starts off b&w and then after one sweep it goes to colour? I could do this for you tonight if your in a rush Ben?

P.S. It's a very imaginative sig KoA and although it makes me feel ill, I appreciate the amount of work that has gone into it, rock on :slayer:

Personally i think Sig sizes are only too large if it comes to having to move the screen over to allow you to be able to read the threads.
For those that are having problems with connection speeds then this is always an option

Surely this is the reason that the option is there in the first place ?

There's way too much crap flying around in this thread for something so easily rectified.

I've made mine smaller, but if you wanna reduce it more Pete then feel free, not really good at stuff like that, doesn't look that big now though, so shouldn't be too big a file, although I'm probably wrong

If you right-click on the pictures then do properties, it tells you the file sizes. Ian, yours comes in at 15k which is tiny, it's just that some are over 300-500k.

Once upon a time this was a friendly place where people would have said 'oops yeah, no worries' and done something.

Do people really want the mods to switch off the signatures for everybody? If people can't be sensible then what choice do we have left? It's all in YOUR hands guys, so don't blame us if you can't bring yourselves to have a little consideration for your fellow friends on here.

Your Sig may be small in KB size but it actually stretches the threads on my PC and i have to use the bottom scrollbar to read some posts.

Ideally the sigs should be no wider than 550 pixels.

I think I've moved myself from second largest sig place (which was accidental not deliberate) to wherever I am now. Is mine ok for everyone now - if not, no worries and I'll lose it.

I think Sigs are important to some people and it allows them to express some things about themselves, I for one like to look at peoples sigs. When i used to be on a 56k connection I had no problems with it, it's just one of those things I accepted.
As long as the Sig stays within a reasonable width i.e 550 pixels I have no qualms about anything else.

Thats just IMO though

I think we need to set the max width to 550 (not just because of my sig, you can make it 549 if you want...) as this size fits on the screen for those who are not aware of 'full screen mode' yet I am not sure about the height...

Files size of 50 kb seems to work ok, but the lower the better I guess...
