General should there be a seal here

while trying to reposition my n/s wiper arm, I noticed that the top scuttle panel and bulkhead panels dont have a rubber seal across them that would serve to isolate noise and fumes from the engine bay

I assume there should be one, but am struggling to find a good enough pic on the web that shows it

so the question is, should there be one?

I can answer my own question, the seal was wrapped around the spare wheel in the boot!

now fitted.
