Yep, if your ticket was for parking on a single yellow, then going on those pictures, it won't stand as its not a 'proper' yellow line, therefore it is technically not an offence to park on it.
However, it may be for parking within 10 feet of a junction. If it is, pay up, as going on those pictures, you are causing an offence by there.

it WAS for the yellow line as stated on the ticket? was about 3-4 feet from corner of junction! think i should be fine but if FOUND guilty i will happily pay it! (yeah i know it will be s**t loads more) but i dont think i will

Sorry, I'm knackered ATM  Must have missed it :) TBH, I think you would get off in court on the technicality that the yellow line isn't up to standard.

How about this approach?
If it's ruled that this is a yellow line section, even though there's only an end marker at one end, then each section must have it';s own sign indicating the restriction. If the ign indicating the restriction is not adjacent to this section of line, then you could argue that there's no sign indicating the restriction for this 3 metres of yellow line.
Of course if there is a sign next to it, ignore that!

This may help.

The person asking the questions informed the forum that his case was thrown out after 2 letters which stated that there was no T bar and that it was a legal requirement.

You cannot break the law if the law was not made enforceable.

i just got one, i parked in a spot without a bay marking, and no yellow line, but becuase i was on a "restricted road" regardless of markings, i should aparently pay. I've written the ****tiest letter I cvan and will hand deliver it this week...

I know i don't live in the u.k., so the law maybe a bit different, but if that was in denmark (say Copenhagen) you would have gotten a ticket for parking next to a yellow line (in denmark ALL yellow lines is a no-no when parking) and for parking to close to a junction (you have to park at least 10 metres from the junction).

Paul, if you were found to have broken some strange old law should you pay the consequence? Not all laws are applied correctly to situations. If parking is to be prohibited then people shouldn't be left wondering. It should be plain as day that its not allowed.

It's not some strange law...! It's right here in the highway code;)

It's some strange old law that you should do 70mph on the motorway, if I was caught breaking it, fair enough, i would pay the consequences. It's pretty clear cut, though with the broken yellow line it's not according to everything I have posted on this thread.

Oh I am not arguing against that, hence my previous posts on this thread, the lines were not correct and therefore it is likely that the ticket can be overturned.

However, I am trying to work out why sereph thinks he is not due a ticket for (presumably) parking on a clearway (?).

To be fair Traffic wardens suck ass.. i dont believe you should have gotten it but you were parked on a yellow line, a currupt one but hey so is the goverment, argue your case, i got let off with speeding i was doing 40 in a 30, but the police loved my car and let me off... so maybe you can get some Punto Love and they will let you off :D
