severe weather warning.....

So, the sea - which is basically water, salt & tonnes of crap being violently churned up constantly, has managed to freeze - and yet the muppets have this strange idea that a gritted road is safe to drive at or beyond the posted limits:bang:

Still, it really is great fun to watch the beemers sliding all over the place.

Had fine snow all night and the driving conditions are now more difficult than at any point in the last three weeks, and they've been pretty terrible up to this point:bang:

The met office, the council and local news reporters were telling us to brace ourselves saturday afternoon and last night for 10-15cm.

Well guess what it aint here!

Cancelled loads of things and ran around like a nutter on saturday making sure I had everything I needed so I didnt have to leave the house. If anything we had a big thaw on last night as most of it has now melted

grrrrr

Crap isnt it. Lack of grit is showing up now. Took me an hour and a half instead of half an hour to get into work today.

I watched that program on ITV1 earlier - "Tonight" with Mark Austin. He went over to Finland, Helsinki airport has never shut because of the snow, schools and businesses there never shut because of the snow and roads certainly don't close because of the snow!

If the Finnish can do it, why can't we? Despite not having enough resources, of course.

You are taking the **** arent you? Comparing us to Finland after 3 weeks of snow and cold joker. They have it basically all year round, id be a bit worried if they werent better prepared for it and didnt have the infrastructure in place to cope with bad weather.
