Sealey tool box

Sealey tool box

if you work at a garage they should get a box for you?

And take it out of his wages, no doubt.

Always better to have your own. Nothing wrong with a Sealey box. Keep it good and you may be able to sell it on to a newer apprentice when the time comes to trade up.

Also have a look at the Clarke range in Machine mart, you can go and have a play in the shop. They have different ranges at different prices.

Cheers

Places I visit usually give out beta stuff. I would question some halford stuff though for example the ratchet spanners are covered for breakage (to the actual spanner not the ratchet) which I think is pretty useless...not personally experienced this but read it here on forum somewhere.

A good way is to get snap on stuff (even secondhand on ebay) for major sizes etc and halfords/facom etc for sizes not commonly used thats what I do,

The guy I used to work for used to buy halfords cheap stuff for me to use - which was such a false econemy for him - but it was his money and it did feel nice getting new tools every few months :)

Still insanely expensive for some tin on trolly wheels

I've allways wanted a big tool box but dang those prices - I'll stick to my sports bag of spanners, plastic box of screwdrivers and carrier bags for everything else

ill stick with my £10 from carboot old rusty toolbox with drawers lol does me well, my mate at the garage has an obsession with snapon he got over 30K worth of tools, which i said most probally get from halfords for less then 1/4 of the price lol although we use the screwdrivers for chissles ect... when we bend them we just snap the tip of in the vice and the snapon man in the van replaces them lol

I think i'll keep my eye on ebay and whats going on there for the box and tools as alot of tools onthere are band new for like 1/2 price.

The halfords tools garentee doesnt cover moving parts which is pointless as thats the thing you want garenteed

I'm on my second Snap on box and the quality is superb.
All my tools bar a very select few which are Mac are great and only things i ever break are sockets or strong arm u/j's
Some guys i worked with had draper expert stuff and that seemed great quality stuff.
I guess its up to you what you want to spend?
And as for apprentices getting tools off their employer :ROFLMAO:
At Jag best i managed was some work clothes! And thats only due to company policy!
Well done if you can get some!
