'scones' or 'scons'?

How should it be pronounced?

scons. Scones sounds posh. Strangely the father in law thinks that scones is the common way of saying it

it just the way you say it i think. 'Scon' just seems more abrubt to me. Try saying scon and scone in a llyod grossman accent and you might see what i mean!

I say grass as in ass (not as in arse) and bath not baarth)

Why is it that the relationship between one gear and another is called ratio (ray-she-o), yet the paved area in the back garden is patio (pat-ee-o)?

Personally for me it's scone, and it sounds posh if you say "scon".
