When we are talking about a ridge between a carbon fibre pipe and a silicone elbow, i think that maybe things are going a little OTT.

If the pipe wall thickness is 1.5mm, then the ridge is bugger all. Not really an issue compared with the rough cast surface on the inside of the inlet manifolds or the join between your induction kit and your filter.

As i mentioned before, the join between the bob and the GSR induction kit is huge. (Or is this what you would class as a "compromise?")
 
gsr kits don't have a plastic bob no more, they are all one piece from filter to tb..as for the ones in the pic they are used by manufactures, they are what we are all trying to improve on not copy

Is this the case for the SPI cinq and Seicento?
 
I don't know what the inside condition of the tube is.

The off putting thing about my GSR kit is that it's 70mm at the start for the filter then narrows to 50mm in the mid section then widens back out to 70 at the bend then to 50mm again for the TB.

I always thought that it must be one consistent size throughout or atleast if it narrows then it stays consistent with that too.

Add to this the fowling from the bonnet caused by it stacking quite high, the previous owner left it as is and it has reshaped the hose.

My car is also on the GSR website so it must of been one of the first to have the kit on, maybe why it looks a bit shady.

the ridge between filter an pipe goes the other way so not as bad as air hitting one the other way still not ideal one day some thing pay be thought of to get rid of this, 1.5mm may not seem a lot but it is.
As i mentioned before no GSR kit sold now uses a plastic bob, website pics are years out of date
 
Just looked at GSR site.

Hose diameter changes look dodgy as anything.

It does seem to sit in the engine bay.
 
Does anyone have a pic of a GSR kit on a SPI engine that doesnt use a plastic bob?

What induction kits do people use on SPI engines? (And MPI with same shape TB)
 
They do look like something stevie wonder has thrown together in the bathroom lol, but fact is they get good gains and are affordable always had gsrs on my na cinqs and i think theyre great, so id stick with what you've got already tbh!

Why do you think this is 50mm in the centre? Apart from it the rest of your measurements are wrong.

This is a lot of nonsense.
 
I don't want to argue over who is right and who's wrong but at the end of the day I have the kit here (on my car mind) to measure.

Again it is either because my car was one of the first to have the kit or it's just warped and fowled over time.

I don't know as I was not the original owner of the car, flame me.

if the new gsr kits for the cento spi dont have a plastic bob is it a silicone bob?
if so i hope people with the old kit some how still use the old grs kit with a new bob if it has one
if you know what i meen lol
