Styling rusted on

:bang: i've been trying to get the black plastic strip thing above the number plate off on my punto mk1 but 2 of the screw things i cannot get off for love nor money.
my other bigger half couldn't budge them either so its not just cause im small and weak
any ideas anyone?

Have you tried spraying with WD40 and leaving for a little while to soak?

WD40 works miracles! hehe i used i to remove the bolts holding my heat shield over my manifold... they came off instantly!!!

WD40 will get it off quicker than you can say "wowawiwa it works!"

Mine were so rusted, the heads of the screws were knacked, so i had to drill them out and then use pliers on the remainder when i got it off.

you can get a tool that looks something like a drill bit ,but has opposite thread and will grip and turn lockfast screws

plus gas removes most things, including paint, so watch out

i use ice in a can for all things like this, (cant remeber its proper name)

Basically u spray it on and it freezes the screw down to -40, making it go smaller and easier to remove, (also breaks rust off)

cost a couple of quid from a gd car shop and can be used on anything

I wouldn't call it a strip .

Would be wise to aqire a new set of bolts if the rusted ones are no longer useable.
