RPM on FIAT MAREA 2.4TD 125HLX 1997
For the past 18 months, I have noticed that the engine sounds very noisy on start up and when it's stationary.
FIAT told me last year that the timing belt tensioner needed replacing, I had this changed by some other garage, but it has not made any difference.
2 years ago I had the crank pulley replaced and recently the alternator tensioner replaced.
The engine does seem a lot quieter, when the water temperature of the car goes up i.e. whilst stuck in traffic.
I believe that the revs on the car are too low. Does the Marea have an idler where you can adjust it manually to increase the revs?
