Hi,

It seems that I have lost the live feed to both the odometer and ODB port, at least. Where should I start to troubleshoot?

Thanks!

I would check if the cabling has come loose, stick your head where your feet usually go... and then I would check if the battery has enough power... if none of that helped I would wait for better replies..

Hi,
Some more detail would help. What was inital fault and exactly what have you done? The odometer won't do anything without power. A flashing odometer normally indicates a CAN bus configuration issue that requires a proxi alignment proceedure to be run with diagnostic software e.g. Multiecuscan or Fiat's Examiner system.

Hi, I installed an aftermarket radio and somehow when connecting the wires (forgot to remove battery lead), the odometer started to flash. I went for proxi alignment, but the ODB connector has no power, thus does not reply. The mechanic said that probably the live feed to the odometer and ODB port has an issue and therefor the clock resets itself every time when turning the ignition on/off. But no further information about what to check...

Firstly disconnect the radio, as that seems to be the cause.

The original radio only has four wires, a power, an earth and two CanBus wires. The original standard for the 8-pin plug was created before CanBus, and this can cause a few issues. The car CanBus wires MUST NOT be connected to any aftermarket radio, unless it is specifically designed for CanBus. I've not seen one of these yet.

If you've just used the car 8-pin power plug into the new radio, you may well be sending a voltage down the CanBus wires. At best this will just confuse the body computer, at worst it may destroy it, or some functions of it.

To properly fit an aftermarket radio you need an adaptor that interprets the CanBus signals and sends analogue signals to the radio.
Here is an example, but not necessarily the correct one for your vehicle.
