Technical Removing front brake discs - advice

I recently attempted to replace the discs on my girlfriends sei sporting, and i managed to remove the disc retaining bolt, however the guide bolt for the alloy rounded when i tried to undo - on the first instance i thought this was just screwed into the disc iteself and so shouldnt stop the disc from being removed but nevertheless i couldnt get the damn disc off.. since thinking about it, is this screwed into the hub thus preventing the disc from being removed?

Yep. You need a deep 12mm socket to get one that's well on off, and some penetrating fluid. Either that or a blowtorch.

cheers fingers, will have another look in a bit...im hoping the mole grips will do the job

give it soak with penetrating fluid for an hour of so before trying with grips, also give the end a couple of sharp taps with a hammer

stilsons may be better than mole grips

and if all that fails, grind the head of it off with an angle grinder which will release the disk, then you may have a little bit of it sticking out of the hub that might be undone with a pair of pliers or similar.
