Just to check this is within my ability, has anyone ever done it before?

I assume the main hinges stay attached to the car and I just remove the door from them using the star bolts?

Then the check-strap stays in the door and I just knock out the retaining pin?

Finally though how does the wiring work, is the connector in the door side, or behind that bit of trim on the car side?

Which I guess leads to my next question, when I get to the scrappy tomorrow, do I want the wiring still coming out the door, or will there just be a hole that I slide the old connector into?

Looking at the photo again, I'm not sure there is space to get a star thing in there without it hitting the lower hinge part 🤔

I'm not sure how those pins would be removed though, they look welded on?

The wiring looks like it runs all the way through, but eper doesn't show what it actually connects to...

Based on the size of the connectors though, it looks like the car side (the fat one) is plugged in first, then run into the door to connect up that way.

Electric window and central locking, so must be just two?

Disclaimer, ive never done this on a sei but I have done it on loads of cars and you get to knowing how to do it.

I would undo the check strap, that will allow a bit more access to the hinges.

Take the trim panel out in the footwell that will likely uncover the multi plug for the door wiring.

Unplug the wiring

The rubber wiring sheath is just clipped in and will pop off

Unbolt the hinges,

All in maybe a 15 minute job

Ok I looked through the Haynes manual (thanks @Sir16v ) and actually the main hinges shouldn't be removed from the door, just the bolt on the bottom of the upper hinge and the bolt on the top of the lower hinge should be removed.

So it doesn't seem so tricky after all!

Will post a guide when done 👍

Looks to be an even easier than what I had anticipated as it can all be done from the door and the door panel is easy to pop off
