The results of Bombay's action not withstanding I would make the following comments:
If you're any type of keen driver, stick a set of Eibachs on (or perhaps other brands).
I had assumed that they would make the car much stiffer and knacker the ride. I only swapped mine due to the spring snapping. However once done the improvement in the car is amazing!
Ride is hardly effected but all other measurables are better. I have kept the stock shocks and they match well with the new springs. They aren't too hard by any means (in fact softer than the stock units on the mk5 Golf hire car I had). They have also cured the suspension of tying itself in knots given the merest hint of fast direction change.
The car is now a pleasure to drive round challenging bends.
The loss in ride height is arse but it was rubbish anyway so the difference isn't that significant.
If you plan the timing of buying/fitting it should be pretty cheap too.
Quite why this set-up wasn't offered as a sports option from the word go I don't know. Probably would have convinced more people to buy a Stilo.....
Hope that this helps anyone with doubts/thoughts about fitting Eibachs.
