My rear windscreen would start wiping when reversing with front wipers on- put on myself. Not much thought to it.

Now if I indicate left goes on(rear) or break(not always)

My indicator bulb on the left is weak- apply the breaks and it is nowhere near as bright at the right-hand side.

This just bulb change needed here or this a dam nightmare coming my way?
Thanks

The rear wipery is designed to come on in reverse if your fronts are on

The Indicator issue sounds sounds a bad earth connection
Correct ?

The rear light cluster connector will have high resistance on the centre pin

The longer you leave it the harder it is to fix as it will be getting very hot. Eventually it will start to melt the connector.

As said, most likely to be a bad earth.

All the bulbs in each lamp earth through the same point. If that provides a high resistance, the current will try to find its easiest path, which is often through other bulbs. It is likely that the earth from the tailgate connects to the body at the same point as the rear lamp, somewhere behind the trim on the left side in the boot. If that is a poor connection, the rear lamp current might be trying to find a path through the wiper.

open hatch
unscrew the three Black screws
push the tab on the connector down with you thumb and pull the connector off
lift the plastic bar up and pull out the offending connector
straighten and clean with emery
put everything back and all is golden
just done mine took about 10 minutes

but then again I have done a fair few
