Hi,

Hopefully someone can help!!, got a 1.2 Stilo, with a tail of the stop and tail bulb stuck on even when the engine is turned off. Its burning bright and a slight burning smell from the fuse box! Error code of the stop lamp not working.

Not sure if its a relay in the fusebox, but can't find a diagram!!

Any body got any ideas what it could be?

Cheers

Its getting a 12volt supply from somewhere, try pulling fuses 1 by 1 until it goes out, that might give you a clue. You have the correct bulb in the right way around I assume? Does the Stilo have parking lights activated by the indicator stalk with the ignition off by any chance?

will give the fuses a go once it stops raining!

Parking lights are turned off, it is only happening on the right hand side and only one light and none of the rest! Must be getting a feed from somewhere and the bulbs are in the right way. Seems to be going through bulbs the last few months.

Check for water ingress & corrosion in the RHS rear lamp cluster then Richard, give it a good clean off with electrical contact cleaner & a toothbrush if you see any blue-ish coloured powder around there, and give the earth that side a clean up while you're in there, pay special attention to the light cluster itself.
Also check whether you are getting full battery voltage on the rear sidelight bulb connector. These daft faults usually have a simple fix, narrowing down the circuits affected will help. That hot smell from the fusebox suggests a short somewhere...

In normal circumstances with the ignition off and providng the parking light button on the MODE panel isn't pressed, there shouldn't be any power to any of the rear lights.

As Ffoxy suggests, seems as though you've got a short somewhere.

Have you had a look at brake switch above peddle ?
Have at look at fitting guides

Sounds like a relay to me I'm sure 1 of the gurus here could interpret which 1, gentle tap with screw driver might fix it.
