The previous owner had SORNed it, yeah.

I brough £50 Clio Banger on 5th of May, recked it on field, scrapped it without V5 next day , and logbook came through 3 weeks later, then sent that off as scrapped and heard nothing about not renewing the SORN, but yes, if your keeping the car you need to reSORNed it

well since i couldnt get to the post office i did it on the phone, the lady said it would be "fine" but the automated SORNer machine said that the DVLA "may be in contact about lapsed road tax fine" or some such

doubt anything will happen anyways. LOL jordan's morris hasnt been taxed or SORNed for 12 years, he only checked when i told him

Tell him not to SORNed it as he have to do it yearly then. If not been on the road for over a certain amount of time it don't have to be SORNed

i think he means that as it's sorn'd on the old style it doesn't have to be renewed yearly. so to leave it as it is.

Sorned came in, in about 2003 (not exactly sure on year).

If a car has been off the road and untaxed before SORNed came in, then it never has to be sorned unless it's taxed again and then goes back off of the road.
