Hello all, (Punto 1.2 8v mk2 2000)
Just replaced gearbox with reconditioned unit. I Wired up the starter motor incorrectly and tried to start car but rapid clicking noise was heard! realised my mistake on investigation and had not wired up the positive lead from battery to starter, It was resting against cylinder block when i tried to start car, I have in my stupidity put an electrical current through my engine and all though the car turs over it will not fire now! im good at mechanical repairs but electrics i find confusing! Please could somebody suggest a course of action to help me please. I also replaced all fuses, I did not replace relays as haynes manual does not identify which one does what!
