Depends what you want out of a car. If you just want a hassle free 'out-of-the-box' turbo car, then look at the punto GT. If your more of a cinq enthusist then turboing might be the option... if you got the time and skills. Also do you need regular transport from your car... turboing a cinq isn't an overnight job. So a spare run around will mean more insurance and additional costs.
Personally, I'm not keen on Punto GT - no disrespect to anyone who has one, but I think they are a bit common, but then I've never been in one :p
What about an Uno T? :D
Or a non-fiat? Save some cash for a Lupo GTi? Ou, what about a Golf Mk2 Gti?

£332 for cinq with elephant (old git aint i?)
£546 for punto gt with elephant.

There is no chance that a turbo cinq is gonna cost less than £550 with all mods declared, since its probably gonna have new wheels and suspension, strut braces and all sorts.

Ross

p.s. just done those quotes there just now :D

£332  You can't be that old my Cinq cost me less than half that with all my mods declared (HIC)

if it were me i would be tempted by a Turbo cinq (and I am) but there are a number of factors to consider, the main being If it is to be your only form of transport if so then the HGT would be the head choice, if it were to be a toy and a second or third car then the heart choice, the Cinq would win hands down.

As every Cinq turbo owner on the Forum knows to there cost your life will not be trouble free and if you already drive a cinq then you are a real man which means you just won't be able to go low boost

think i will be going for the PGT i commute daily so will be more reliable. more power potential also safer i.e. abs,air bags etc. also i get the luxury of PAS. insurance on the PGT will be £746 TPFT:) so not to bad. anyone wand a cinq;)

Emma is 22 and has every single mod for her car declared, turbo, pistons intercooler, suspension, wheels, etc etc etc and she pays about the same as your quote on a standard Cinq for fully comprehensive cover.

I paid £144 on a Turbo Cinq 3rd party last year.

Aaron.

just read this thread, as it has been said before the turbo cinq is on its limit whereas the GT is stock (provided you find an un-abused one) i think the GT is the better choice :)

As much as I'd love a turbo cinq, its gotta be the GT every time.

A) The engine is designed to be turbo'd
B) The engine is designed to kick out 130 bhp in stock form
C) The brakes were desinged for a turbo
D) The whole thing is ready as it is out the box
E) A modded GT is faster
F) More people deal with GTs than Turbo Cinques
G) Its just another IG14 car to insurance companies (tends to be cheaper if you dont need specialists

The list goes on

Who with ? And can you scan a copy of that through? Cause i used to work in insurance and doubt that. My dad whos 45 and drives a 1 litr micra, and has never had an accident, pays £160.

However, if its true, i REALLY wanna know how :D

There's a very clean looking LB Abarth/Storm kitted Imola Blue Cinq Turbo on the ClubCento forum with an asking price of £2k ono.

Your dad needs to shop around!

I am 38 will full ncd and no accidents or convictions, it cost me £160 for the Cinq fully comp with all mods declared and that includes protected NCD. I have also just re-insured the GP and that only cost me £183 fully comp including business use.

I have seen this one it's very tempting just not got that sort of money going spare at the moment (I don't like the bonnet and interior but looks good all the same)

if you're playing like that then why get either, for the money get something faster. hell my mate bought a rover 220 coupe (2.0turbo), much faster than PGT, much more comfortable, lether int etc - for £300.

Well ok then, go buy a rover.

Theres a lot of other cars out there, but I thought the choice was between two? Hence the title. So I listed my reasons for the choice. Of course there are loads of cars out. A lot of them better than the two listed.
