Intercooling a Fiat Coupe

Front mount or better cored standard fit?

Front mount...

+ Bigger surface area to allow improved cooling (allegedly).
+ Somewhere better than behind the headlight to put the air filter.

- Distance from the turbo to the inlet increases causing lag.
- Weight.
- Looks naff.
- Cost (no cheap eBay jobbies here)

Standard fitment with a better core.

+ Cheaper (not cheap)
+ No cosmetic alteration required (stealth).
+ Weight.
+ No cutting stuff.
+ Standard distance from turbo to inlet so less lag.

- Behind the radiator so still an inter-heater rather than intercooler.
- Air filter location.
- More difficult to get to if a pipe gets blown off or other issue.

I'm considering these options...

Front mount kit by reputable company.

I've asked both listed suppliers if they know the flow rate deterioration (boost loss due to core friction) of their intercoolers as that is more of a factor and I'll let you know what they say.
