Technical Punto clutch

So while driving today it seems the clutch may have gone. But I would like some to confirm this please.

Pug the clutch down and it doesn't lift. So trying to add revs just makes a load of noise. But the clutch works in reverse??

Any ideas??

Does the clutch come up when the engine is off?

Yeah when the engine is off it lifts back up. When the engine is running. It make like a squeaky whuring noise. Cheers

If the clutch is getting stuck
Then i would say hydraulic issues
So either master / slave / old fluid

But it could also be mechanical - ie the arm mechanism is seizing or the clutch is dead

Have a look in the engine bay and see if the slave cylinder is moving the arm freely?

Cheers mate. Yeah the arm is moving. Changing the fluids might be worth a go. It just seemed to happen with no warning

well im lost here
are you sure arm moving and both cables in the linkage are free?
ive got a punto at the moment where the gear linkage is decidedly stiff so pretty sure this is going to cause a problem soon if i dont sort it
cant get my head round reverse is fine only
still think its a problem out of the box or the gizzards going in to it
