Hi

Hope someone can help!

I have a 1.2 8v mk2 punto 5dr - the clutch pedal creaks and sticks in certain places not a problem when general driving but when it comes to setting off it sticks (as it lifts slower) causing me to either stall of set off not smoothly a right problem in slow moving traffic with biting point been high. im expecting to smash into car in front so have to leave large gap in front.

It had a new clutch 16000 miles ago but it had the problem from then but very slight and didn't effect driving from then cant comment before it was done as dealer I bought it of had it done and provided receipt.

I have tried using wd40 in the clutch release fork where the arm connects and the clutch goes very smooth can go in 1st gear easier etc but that only last a few hours.

Now im guessing there is a bush or bearing that's the problem any one point me in right direction is it a big job to do myself any step by step instructions ?

Infact any help would be appreciated sorry for long post

if you mean where it goes down into the gearbox then these are plastic bushings so wd40 (hopeless stuff no matter what anyone tells you) is only going to last a short time before it dries up, akin to turning the heating up in the cinema providing free salted peanuts then robbing you for a small carton of kiora

i suggest you see if theres a tin of 3 in 1 oil under your sink and dribble some of that down

i have found these pivots do seize if moved too far when box out so its quite possibly your problem here

Thanks is it easy to replace the plastic bushes or is it full box off and a head ache

I didn't have any 3 in 1 left but I found some gearbox oil stuck some of that on it see how long that lasts!

my panda had same fault ( same box etc ) was hydraulic slave cylinder that causes the problem, 3in1 down box bushes and wd40 (lots of it) behind slave boot 4 months later is still mint, even got another slave cylinder as they are so easy to change but never fitted it

Didnt work putting oil on arm at first but persistence pay now smooth thanks again guys and seems to be lasting
