Hi, I am fairly new to this forum as its normally my X1/9 that has me pulling my hair out, as my seicento sporting has generally been less troublesome (apart from the time the silencer fell off on the first day of a fortnight's camping holiday....)
However, I managed to shatter one of the alloys, and rather than pay FIAT's daft prices for a replacement wheel that just looks like a hubcap, I located a set of 13" 100pcd Smith's rims off a Punto. They'll fit with wobbly bolts, but I obviously need spacers both front and rear. I tried 5mm spacers on the front, but they still seemed to be fouling the steering arms. If I go to 10mm on the fronts, will this mean I need to get the lips of the arches rolled back? Do the plastic arch inserts need to be modified too? and can I stick with 5mm spacers on the rear? Also, once I go to 10mm, this extends beyond the hub-centric. Is there a type of spacer that extends this central mounting ring as well?
Also, what sort of costs are involved? Maybe I should just see if I can get a set of cinque 4-spokes from a scrapyard
Thanks in advance, If anyone has queries about Strada 1500 engines I might be able to help in return!
