Well Bucket is back!

The trip back was wet, very wet. I'd made sure that Bucket was well protected with a tarpaulin so none of the rain actually got to him, Shame SPL weren't so diligent when E coating him. :mad:
One of doors was dented. It is fixable and I got Julie a credit to cover the repair but I'm not impressed. I'll post a guide for anyone thinking of having this process done, regardless of which company you use, just a bit too tired at the moment.

Anyway here's some pics..........

It's just a shame that someone there -- which is crap, really, for a firm with such a strong reputation... -- possibly thought "Ah, it's only a Panda...". As you say, the Gullwing will probably be treated with a lot more respect... -- even though it shouldn't just be about monetary value, but the worth to the owner. :eek:

I would be just as pissed off about Hal getting damaged as I would the almost brand-new Audi 100 estate that I once had, that was written off by a sleepy salesman on the M40 (and that cost around 100 times more...). Mind you, I was in it, at the time.... :p

Go and have a nice cuppa; and then find someone who can do such things a lot nearer -- so you don't have to kill yourself, each time.... :rolleyes:
 
Screen on the iPad is gone (n) so can only see small pics on the phone, looking amazing though (y) Annoying about the door! You didn't put a tape measure across the gull wings door sill did you? Looks about a foot wide :eek:

You would just have remove where the doors hang from and get the NHS to supply a body lift and due to the large wedge £ you would need have a carer avalable at all times

Sorry David nothing much to report, Panto and Gavin's Sisley are taking all the attention at the moment.

The next step, when space and time allow, is to take Bucket off of the trailer and put him back on to the rotisserie.
Once there we can then seam seal the shell, paint and protect the underside. It will then be ready to go to the bodyshop for painting.

Well the time to do this has finally arrived :slayer:

Panto is now back on the rotisserie and upside down.......



Pete has been in this week and has been keying the underside ready for the stonechip.





He has also started to apply seam sealer where needed as the original sealer gets lost during the acid dip.

It's great to be back on Bucket again. :)
 


As you can see Bucket is now back the right way up. He's also had a little filler here and there where the dipping caused a little damage and the welding had inevitably caused some areas to distort. Some of the worst damage caused by SPL was first repaired by a panel beater, filler only being used sparingly to finish off.

Bucket is now ready for paint and waiting for his turn in the spray booth. The company doing this is about 40 miles away so I need to make a frame to mount him on the trailer without damaging the work so far.
