Dave - We use 1mm sheet steel, I think it's somewhere between 18 and 20 gauge.
Andy - We use tin snips or an air powered cutting disc (1mm thick). The disc is good for straight cuts and the tin snips for corners.
Well Alan's been working on the MK4 badges the last couple of days, now that"s finished Bucket is ready to go back for E coating, hopefully next Monday as long as I don't total the tow vehicle (Oslo) on the Yorkshire moors this weekend

I was going to use an engineering firm to tig weld them in to the C pillars as tig welding would be less likely to distort the thin C pillar metal, but we decided that if Alan gave a break between each couple of tacks to allow things to cool down we should be able to do it ourelves with my mig. As it turned out there was no problem at all.
