To add - My rebuilt pump is leaking from the same head that had a tiny weep before it was rebuilt. Basically, new seals fitted and it's now (much) worse. I most likely damaged an O-ring but its odd that the same head is leaking. It will have to be replaced with a service exchange pump.

I was reacting to Dave's leaking pump. Your commonrail has AFAIK a valve that can fail so it's not holding pressure.

gr J
which valve ? one time the engine is started all pressure consigns and measures are similar

The service exchange pump I had ordered and paid for has been refunded, because they actually don't have any available until at least mid May. Its a bit of goof up TBH but at least they've dealt with it quickly.

Can anyone recommend a rebuild service for the 1.3 JTD common rail pump.

What's history of the car

We started with not turning over

Then an immobiliser error

And now we have 50% fuel pressure at cranking

Seeing as fuel pressure during cranking is directly dependent on crank speed

Are we sure it not connected. I very much doubt we have three seperate problems unless the car has got some strange history

Seeing as fuel pressure during cranking is directly dependent on crank speed
Connect a second battery via good quality jump leads. This should increase the available starting current, make it spin faster and increase the fuel rail pressure.
