Good! we want a nice clear close up of the lobe.

I'm still tying to figure out:

1. Why is there a lobe at all when the engine shouldn't need one?
2. Should the lobe be 'egg' shaped or round and just offset?

No socks:D !!!!

Think it should be round and offset, not egg shaped

Sorry for keeping you waiting, dad still not unpacked his bags so had to go rooting

It still looks round in the pics - no socks but slippers :p

compliments on the footwear, and yup it's not got the fuel pump offset on it at all... you'd need a suitable electric driven one... preferably with a built in pressure regulator.

Thought so :( , thanks for the confirmation

Anyone have experience of fitting an electric fuel pump?

Jim knows all about fitting an electric fuel pump.. . . .

I'll stick with fitting my 4x4 Camshaft . . . .
The offset is more obvius side on when the eye is not distracted by the offset slot........

I have been searching through Jim's posts, but he has so many I gave up

In simple man terms, would I cut the fuel line, stick in pump and wire it up :chin:

If it's too complicated, Im sticking with stripping the sisley out and going up hills

essentially, yes.but you have to put the pump next to the fuel tank, wire it in, adjust it . . . .
PM him - he's really helpful! He will at least direct you to the right thread. . . .

rm.. you have to put the pump somewhere between the tank and the carb, how you do it is up to you... Jim's is on the offside front wing... but that particular place on the Sisley is a little busy. somewhere near the relays might be good...

ok then, you quickly run out of places to put a pump in the engine bay if you are avoiding anything potentially catastrophic... somewhere near the brake-servo then?...

i don't really want to place it above the alternator... or beneath the heater matrix... maybe Graham was right... somewhere next to the tank... but then where? without it getting covered in crud?

how about behind one of the plastic splash guards?

I would not recomend putting an electric pump in the engine bay, they don't like the heat and quickly expire. They also like to push the fuel rather than push so best mounted as near to the fuel tank as possible (and as low as possible). I would mount it on the face of the cross-member just in front of the tank on the drivers side (if you have a haynes, page 173 rear end pic between numbers 1 and 3:) ) cheers Damon

We moved the pump to under the back seat.... Mechanical pumps suck (and thus are better in the engine bay) and electric pumps blow (and are better near the tank)

Do you know I've always wanted to get the words 'suck' & 'blow' into a sentance on the FiatForum!!!:D

oh this all sounds complicated, had a quicky on ebay and there are differnet psi pumps . Can you get adjustable ones so if I buy the wrong one I not wasted money

i think there are plenty of adjustable ones... infact i don't think i have seen one that only does one pressure... keep an eye out it shouldn't be that hard finding one... finding one for free may be trickier though.

Under the sound insulation under the rear seat.... there is a plastic cover with access to the fuel tank connection hoses and fuel guage sender.
Why not bolt it on inside the car and make a cover for it?

No No and No:nono:

I think you'll find that thats a MOT fail(n) . Then there's the cabin filling full of petrol fumes :dead: and finally the noise will drive you insane (tick, tick, tick):spin: A nice bit of lateral thinking though ;) cheers Damon
