Got a call today to say Mum's 4x4 is built and at stage 20. The dealer and Mum are very excited (nice to see someone enthusiastic in the Fiat sales dept - she's been ringing every week with an excited update!!). Mum's old mk1 Punto is still grinding along (literally!), so nice to expect it within their original delivery estimate - we were told 12 weeks which would be end of April, and now should be 2/3 weeks hopefully. (y)

Not sure why some people are having issues with theirs - this one's got CBC so that can't be causing a delay. philboo what's happening with yours, as it was ordered a good month before ours??

Hey there. Great to hear a dealer ringing with good news. I emailed my dealer about Wednesday or Thursday to ask what was going on as mine had been moved back to week 13 build which is this coming week.

They replied immediately to say it was being built as we speak and should arrive mid April. I do think adding CBC was the cause of mine moving back. Apart from that I've the same options as other people but I went for the two seat rear not three seat option.

Very excited. I did an insurance quote and I find it had to understand how but it is cheaper than my 59 plate 1.2 panda ?!?

Thanks for asking about my order.

I'm very disappointed by the lack of photos from those lucky owners that've received there's ;)

No statistics, haven't been around long enough for people to be smashing up yet (y)

Don't be surprised at a price difference next year. Always happens on release of a new model.

HA HA, I'll address that tomorrow.

Friday it rained, then it was Super Saturday so all day in the pub, my mate had a call at 3pm with the offer of a free halfway line ticket to see Wales vEngland, the lucky mofo!
So of course today has been recovery day.
I think I've finally dried out now.

I did put some interior shots in an album here. :)

Hi Deeyup, I see from your pictures that you have slot for Tom Tom and the Tom Tom as well. This is the option I went for so would be interesting to know how good the sat nav is when you find your feet a bit more with it as I am going to purchase one shortly. Hope your not to hung overAhhhh

I'm pleased you took that as I intended (a joke).

I hadn't seen the interior pictures you'd done so they're great.

Is the heated windscreen like the ford ones with fine lines or is it just an element around the outside edge (I seem that dine before) ?

Also interested in the sat nav. I've paid the £50 for the connection point. Did you already have the tomtom or have you bought it with the panda ? What's the cheapest option is you know ?

Look forward to your updates.

Phil

Hangover cured :yuck:
I was drinking Rev James which I wouldn't normally and it seems a lot better than lager with regards to hangovers.

Anyway,
Heated windscreen is like a Ford one with very tiny wires running through. I tried to take a pic of them, it's not too clear though..

The tomtom in those pics is not the Fiat blue&me 2 model. It's a regular tomtom 1000 go live.
They are the same physically so the unit charges in that fiat dock.
You can find second hand docks on ebay for cheap

If you look here in Halfords they are clearing them out at £129, however I was a little lucky with mine.
I reserved a unit in a local branch, and then they called me to say they only had the display model left and that the live services had expired.
Cheekily I said I would want at least £50 off then as it costs £48 or so to renew for another year. They gave it to me for £65 in the end.

At the moment, until March 31st, the tomtom 1000 go live comes with free lifetime maps, so I called tomtom to say as it's ex display, does it still qualify. The fella said yes they would give me free lifetime maps, and then went onto say "Oh that's a live model, so I'll renew the live services for a year too"
Bonus, of course I didn't mention it to Halfords on collection.

I'd suggest checking if you have local stock, then maybe calling the store to see if it is the last display model. If yes try your luck for the "live expired" discount as we now know tomtom will renew for free!

I do have a Fiat Blue&me live 2 unit. The screen was smashed but I've found new screens for £45 so have ordered one to repair it.

The main differences between the 2 models are the Fiat version integrates with the cars blue&me system showing you stuff like trip computers, music from the usb port if you have a usb stick in there. Eco driving graph is there too. Also the Fiat unit is full Europe mapping, the halfords one is UK and ROI only although you can buy a Europe version elsewhere.
here's a pic

I am struggling to pair the 1000 unit to the car, but not spent much time trying. The Blue&Me unit paired straight away???

Out of the 2, I'd try for the Fiat model. They do come up on Ebay, one sold brand new the other day for £150. Bear in mind, if you want live services, they are free for the 1st year and £48 a year after so take it into account if you buy used.
Other than that, if you can bag a bargain on the 1000 model, then as I wrote above they have free lifetime maps until end of this month (fiat unit you have to pay for updates, so that's a plus, but not integrating fully with the car is a big negative really, you can use steering wheel controls to operate the Fiat version, I'm unsure on the 1000, as I couldn't pair it yet?. Another thinh, you'll have to buy the Fiat mount separately with the 1000.

There's loads of videos on you tube showing the Fiat one.

Thanks for that Deeyup, think I will be sticking with the Fiat one. It has alot of other features I like, just haven't got the time to look around for a bargain. Just hope it's gonna be delivered for the end of next week as promised, thanks again for info.

thanks for your reply I ordered a twin air because to keep me in the same tax bracket as my 59 MJ Mk3 panda which I part X

hope will pick up my car 12:00 from Fiat Hartwells Abingdon where I bought my mj which is white
went for different colour because white shows up all the dirt and black bits which cling to the car you feel you have to kepp washing the car

4 days after ordering my new car I bought a new motorcycle
Honda CBR250R ABS CBS in REPSOL racing colours which is basically
Orange and I like the colour very much

Welcome to the forum, bet your excited about picking up your 4x4, don't think you'll be dissapointed. I should hopefully get mine at the end of next week. Good to see a fellow biker on as well, but I am wondering how long this bad weather will last before I can get out the Blackbird, as I am only a fair weather biker these days:eek:. Anyway enjoy your Panda, you could do with some of this snow we have today to try it!

hello to all well just picked up my new panda

went for a drive with it now 50 miles on the clock

first had trouble getting finding 5th and 6th gears but son got the hang of it after looking at the shift display saying I need to change up
But still leaving it in 4th gear when dirving at 30MPH you can use 6th gear at 40MPH

the stearing is easier than the MK3 panda

I mamage to put my car in ECO mode just needs more throttle

in heavy rain the big wiper blade seems a bit juddery at the ends
however the washer jets are high above the wipers
Only saw 24 mpg probbery due to few mils on clock and getting use to the car
manage to stall the car twice
the wing mirriors are alot better and like the way you can move them electically
As I said still having to learn how to drive the car properly

AS is New Engine Keeping the speed down to 50mph 2250rpm for the first 200 miles then will go up to 3000 rpm for another 300 then it should have been run in

when up dating my insurance I only had to pay £20 admin fee also they got the paperwork done in 10mins thanks to A-PLAN

So now I have a Big SMILE on my face

Twin airs do have a certain technique to get the best out of them.
I reckon about a month of regular driving before you're fully used to the way they drive.

Mpg will get better, as you put a few thousand miles on.

Did you take any pics for us? Not seen a sunset red one yet.

Don't worry too much about that, most modern engines are best just driven as you would a 5 year old car from new, just don't go bouncing it off the limiter (y)

I to belive I have a problem as I think the seat heater switchs are wired the wrong way as pressing the passanges heats the drivers seat

also the wipers on my MJ when on fast speed and I used to come to a road juction would turn to intermitent sweep with this new car panda 4X4 they do not seem to, As they just keep on fast wipe
I will have to take it back to the garage about the wires as I do not want to try reconecting them other than that its a great car lots Better than my MJ 1.3 MK3

Thats not a fault, just how Fiat have decided to programme the body computer to control them from factory.

Got the function on our 2009 Eleganza, didn't have it on our 2004 Active, or our 2004 Stilo, and don't have it on my much higher spec'ed 2008 Bravo.

So that's the second car with heated seats wired backwards.
Surely it isn't supposed to be like that?
If I want to open my window, I press the button nearest me.
Maybe they think with the position of the buttons you could see them better from the other side of the car??

It's just weird.

Your wipers don't slow to intermittent when stopped. It was the same on my 2012 500.
