Hi all,
have been dealing with this for a while.
I replaced the ECU, and then, after two months, the engine light started coming on again.
Funny enough, it always comes on at the same point. Two days in a row now, it has happened in the same spot (odd). The two times it happened before were in another road, but both in the same spot.
Both places have in common that they are on a downhill road. Thinking it back now, even before changing the ECU, most times it happened always on a down hill road....
Do you guys think it's a coincidence? If not, what could the issue be?

Looking for ideas
Thanks a lot

Hiya,
Here are the specs, hope it helps:

Engine Size1242cc
Cylinders4
Valves8
Fuel TypePetrol
TransmissionManual

You have a problem with one cylinder

As a starting place

I'd swap parts one at a time from to cylinder 2 to cylinder 4 and take it for a test drive until P0302 changes to P0304

Plugs
Leads
Injectors

My old (2005) Panda used to do this — always the same point on the same road. It turned out to be a break in the connector to a fuel injector that only ‘moved’ during a certain corner at a certain speed. This is why I say ‘don’t take fault codes as gospel’ and always seek out the broken wire or dirty connection long before leaping to replace more expensive parts. In my case, simply ‘wigglng’ the connectors found three were rigid but one was very wobbly.

Out of curiosity, what lead up to the ECU being changed

Was it actually faulty

If it was faulty was it the coil drivers fried due to HT back feeding due to a faulty coil pack

Has the coil pack also checked especially for shorts between the primary and secondary

Looking at some of there old post from the beginning of the year, we don't seem to have all the information on this thread

We don't know whether any basic test were performed before the garage changing loads of parts such as compression test, voltage drop test while cranking for example

"Already took the car 4 times to the garage, but this codes are still showing intermittent.

Plug sparks, coil packs and leads have been already replaced several times.

Sometimes after 10 miles, sometimes after 5 or 40.
Car goes on limp mode

when the car goes on limp mode the brakes stops working properly this started to happen recently,

last year the car would say on limp mode and run for miles at 30mph...
I am driving slowly now, and the car faulted again. "
