Technical Outside temperature sensor

Hi guys and greetings from Sarajevo, Bosnia.

I have recently bought Panda 2012 1.2 petrol and noticed that there is no outside temperature reading on panda's display. I am not sure wich equipment package I have.

Are temperature sensors installed on all panda models and is this only software matter? Where is that sensor located?

Greetings. Is the square model (169) or the squircle model (319)?


On the 169 model the sensor was in the left-side door mirror and was only provided for models with Climate control.

If it's a 319, it'll have a little bubble on the bottom of one of the wing mirrors. These aren't fitted to all Pandas though.

I have the same problem on my panda 100hp, no reading at all, just ----c the sensor is on the bottom of the passenger wing mirror, could a fuse have gone? I've checked the connectors in the passenger footwell and the are all nice and clean, had a look in the owners manual and doesn't list it on the fuse layout.

Check the connector on the hingeside of the door. Use contactspray

I have this problem. The sensor is reading 5 degrees when it's 14 degrees outside, which sends the climate control crazy. My garage say that Fiat only supply the sensor as part of a complete wind mirror assembly. Car is a 2013 TwinAir 4x4.

Can anyone assist with a part number for the sensor and a reliable source of a quality part in the UK?

I bought the sensor on its own from Ebay as I was getting over readings. The problem was caused my an over enthusiastic car wash! I stillhave the sensor if you would like it?

Interesting. I wonder if a squirt of WD40 up the hole would address any moisture problems. Mine is currently back to normal but I'm wondering whether to trust it. (MOT this week could affect how much I trust the whole car!) How much would you want for it? Is it a known car parts brand or anonymous?

Our 2014 1.2 Lounge has no outside temp sensor or reading on the dash. We have manual air con. I dont think these sensors and temp display appeared until 2016 revisions. That is certainly the case for UK spec cars. I too wish it had one as Im a nosey so and so and want to know what the temp is....

I think it came with climate control, which is standard on 4x4 and Cross. I bet the hole for it is there in the bottom of the wing mirror but you'd need an expert to say whether the display is latent in the dash and that you could add a sensor to the loom and activate it. I gather from others that the sensor is part of the loom, so adding or replacing it would require cutting and soldering. All above my pay grade!
