Technical Outside door handle access

2002 1.2 8V Punto

Passenger front is sticking in the open position.

Does the inner panel have to come off to get to the handle hinge and squirt some white grease on?

squirt some oil up the handle on the left and right and then carefully open and shut the handle about 100 times until the handle shuts on its own accord
you might have to repeat the process of oiling during your standing around pulling and pushing
be careful not to break it if really stiff
yes to undo handle inner panel needs to come off and connector to door catch
best to try the external method first

I did the job before getting to your post.

I took the inner panel off thinking the hinge mechanism was inside.

Sadly, as you state above, its on the outside.

Give some WD treatment although its a weird hinge to lubricate.

Work it back and forth as you recommend and its working reasonably well.

Still a bit stiff at the closed position though!

Had todo my driver side twice now i think
Ive drilled a 3mm on each side to allow lubrication to actually get into the hinge
U cant see holes as there behind handle

Ive noticed that my passenger handle isnt snapping down, its sticking just a little near bottom
