OT - Techie Help please: Getting my 5.1 Logitech Speakers to work with new Dell PC...

Dell Dimension 5150

Got my new Dell PC today well happy with it after using a Pentium 2 for about a month after my old comp gave up...

Anyway, it all works, sound works but the rear 2 speakers are very quiet... tried the fade etc but nothing's improving...

I used to have a program on my old pc which allowed me to change options, this sound card is capable of 7.1 so should work with my 5.1 no problem?

ANY help at all is appreciated!

this is the system I've got... but with 2GB RAM and 19" monitor which is sweet!

Did the 7.1 you have now not come with any software that allows you to fiddle with the levels from the taskbar?

Does the kit come with a seperate amp with any level knobs on?

You could move your seat nearer the rear speakers! Although that may not be the most convenient method...

Gimme a model number to go by and ill see what i can dig up.

Same happened with my old man... he wired them up wrongly! If it comes with a sub, the rear speakers plug into that.
