OT Maths help

Hi, anyone enjoy doing maths? lol.
I have a assignment that needs to be in tomorrow and have a few problems with a Sin and Tan question.

Its HNC level, nothing too hard, about the same as GCSE I think.
First part is
a)Experimental suspension struts set up in a jig produce the following waveforms:

2Sin(2l - 35degrees) and 3Cos(3l + 60degrees)

Hard to type it on here but the l is a symbol like a l and the second bracket is 31 over 2.

and the question is?

waveforms, will follow the sin and cos diagrams. which look like waves.
what is the question?

Dont know. It says to draw both graphs on the same axis between 0 - 360degrees, and combine them to give the overall wave so formed.

I dont know how to go about it.

Does it follow on from the question before?

I cant remember much about maths, despite doing it for A level.

Nope, thats the first part of the question. The second part of the question gives new values for tan and requires use of the compound angle formula.

would it be part of an equation that you have to work out before you can draw the wave on the graph?

cos i cant get my graphical calculator to draw what you've got written above/...

Nope, thats the start of the question. Problem is I wasnt able to attend the classes to get the notes on the subject so I dont know how to attempt the question.

Is there anyone you can call to tell you what the notes were?

Otherwise you'll have to go in tomorrow and tell the teacher that you missed the last lesson, you tried to do the work, but couldnt unerstand it, and could he/she go over it with you at some point

It shouldnt be a problem. I work at the college but not for the same department I'm doing the HNC in. Theres a couple of members of staff on the sick at the moment and I've had to cover thier classes and miss my HNC class. Just would of looked good if I could of got it all completed on time. I should of covered enough of the assignment to get a pass, I hope lol.

basically, the sin cos graph looks like

and cos similar except not through 0

what you have been given is that graph above^^^
but shrunk and shifted etc.

it is graph translation read up on how it is translated and you can see how it is moved

I've got away with it for another week and nicked a pile of notes from the other students!!!
