I seem to remember a few years ago that some "scientist" came up with the gem that a cyclist put out more carbon dioxide than a 4X4. Of course that doesn't take into account the gallon or more of engine oil it consumes every year or the 300 or so gallons of diesel/petrol it also drinks.
Maybe they've got a book to publicise.
Mmm, good point. A couple of bikes on the roof of the car does tend to make mincemeat of your fuel consumption figures. Even on the back they cock up the aerodynamics.maybe they meant the ones who take their bike some where on/in a car/van before they start riding it:idea:
