Hi all, I am looking for an OBD2 reader for a Qubo, I was avoiding the wifi devices due to added complications. I have tried a 'Streetwise' I think its called but flatly refuses to connect at all. What do people generally use?

I have only recently come into 'ownership' and the car has had a few faults, currently the engine light was on. A guy interested in buying the car plugged his wifi reader in and it showed a P0096 fault then he disconnected. When I suggested cancelling the alarm and restart the car to see if it returned he could not get any further connection. Its also had an ABS fault but that seems to be fixed...
P0096 is "Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Range/Performance" which I believe is part of the MAP sensor.
So is MultiECUScan available free? Presumably there are cables required?

You can view..and use a restricted engine list via the free version..and an ELM? cable

ABS is probably via the €50 licence full version..and an adaptor lead

Why not look on the member register to see if you can get a Demo :)

Have looked on the MultiECUScan member register but there is no one anywhere near me in the North East :(

Looked on the MultiECUScan website and it looks like a horrendously complicated process of compatibility/connectivity issues with nothing explained or defined:(

Maybe its not that bad! I was hoping for plug and play!

Well you have options besides MES. If you want basic coverage in a hand held unit then GENDAN.CO.UK do some really good Foxwell (and other testers) I have a basic NT301 https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT301.html but were I replacing this then I would get an NT530 https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT530F.html

MES, which I have, has the best coverage of systems and functions but does require a Windows PC/Tablet.

The point about a fairly capable had held EOBD tester is that if when out and about, on holiday, etc. the vehicles EML comes on then you can check if the error is something that could be damaging to the engine. e.g. cam timing due to a slipped belt.
