Jim I'll be backing you up here m8y

eba00257031f00000051.jpg

Have already been informed by MOT station that this will be fine, i may have to tie it to the mesh just for the purpose of the test.

I had my custom bumper made over 6 months ago and have had no probs with the cops what so ever, TBF though i just use the car for shows and cruises, so its not like I'm on the road all the time which reduces the chance of the police spotting it

Also most police that I have spoke with said that if you have the means in your car to put your plate in position while they are there they will happily see you on your way to avoid the paper work

some of you people are such drama queens its fo funny

"The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001"

ie. the law. Not an interpretation of the law or someones idea of the law or max powers opinion but the actual law itself.

I can't see how that could be in any way incorrect.

i did get my car mot'd like this and it sailed through! cheers for the back-up ribz ;)

jim

no worries m8

this forum has some right muppets on it and you'll just get used to people saying "oh you cant do that and you can't do this" and general high & mighty people who think they have degrees in knowing every thing about cars, when the reality is
A) 97% have never even picked up a spanner never mind worked on the mechanics of a bravo
B) they have never considered altering the exterior on interior of there Bravos so have no comception of what is and isnt the law, all they know is third hand storys from 13 year old boy race faggots

basicaly alot of people who like to think they know every thing when they no NOWT!!!!!!

Jim me and you both know what the law is and we both know we what we can and get away with

so the best thing if you want like minded chat where old fags wont talk utter rubbish about cars is email me and I'll fill you in ;)

.... thanks for leaving me out.... i know the law.... that y i was sticking up for jim'o

:(

Smee

bit feckin harsh wasn't it?

One person states the Law, another person states how flexible it can be - easy as that.
Some people abide witht the law - others stretch it for their own purposes...don't see where 13 year old fag racers enters into it?

Err.. sod off Rob.

I care not to alter the outside of my bravo as I like the way it looks, I certainly would not want to totally gimp it up. This however does not mean that I know nothing about what is and isn't legal on the outside of a car.

Having built the odd kitcar and helped friends with theirs I'd say I have a fair idea of what you need to do to get a car through the SVA/MOT and for it to be road legal.

As for what is and isn't the law, the document linked to earlier IS the law. It is published by the government. I don't think you can say that it was written third hand by a bunch of 13 year old laxxers.

"Statutory Instrument 2001 No. 561
The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001"

"The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 23(3) and (4) and 57 of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations: - "

ie. the regulations contained within that document are what the SVA and MOT tests are based on. It is also what all cars have to comply with and what the police should be enforcing.

Just cos one policeman says its OK does not mean it is actually so.

"Where do some of you homos get your information from????!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?"

"...no comception of what is and isnt the law, all they know is third hand storys from 13 year old boy race faggots"

Think you said it all there Ribzz
;)

It should be pointed out, especially to Ribzz and Jim, that not everyone is into modifying cars. likewise, it should be pointed out, perhaps to Tom, that some poeple do. I fall into the do category, although i tend to think that the Bravo can only be modified subtly. Anyway, thats just my opinion. The point is, This Is Not A Modifiers Forum, nor is it a boring old farts forum, where folk gather to moan about those who do like the Lax Flower scene. If i can just qoute the opening sentences for the forum:

"Welcome to the Fiat Bravo Forum. This is THE place to discuss all things Bravo, Brava & Marea, and the best place to get advice, modification tips and more. We would appreciate it if you would respect everyone's wishes and keep it clean and polite."

Whats say we have more of that, and less of the bitching?

Its not about modding, its about the legal requirements for certain aspects of a car.

in tears PMSL!!!!!!!!!!! you are such a gimp Thomas

you really are such a complete faggot, it make me laugh to listen to your incoherent dribble

go quote some more rules i love listening to it :) :)

You really are king of the moaning I know every thing cretins aren't you

I also love the way you in one sense slate modded cars and then in then a post you go on about how much you love modding your own car!!!!!! you are the most awesome gimp chimp ever prime max power!!!

hahaha

No doubt Rob you are the type that moans about how the police pick on modders and how its so unfair getting caught by speed cameras.

what we do to our cars has nothing to do with you Tom!

you seem to delight in telling people what they legaly can and cant do after they have done it!

are you a policeman or something? a traffic warden perhaps

cock

Rob, you seem to have an inability to understand what the law actually is. Its not me telling you what you can and can't do, its the GOVERNMENT.

You can do whatever you like to your car, just if it breaks the law you are very likely to get stopped by the police and probably fined.

If you cannot understand something as simple as that then you really are pretty stupid.

If you want to open yourself up to a potential 6 points and £1000 fine then please do whatever you like. You might as well put blue strobes on your car and drive past schools at 100MPH without your seatbelt on.

Personally I'd rather give the police as few reasons as possible to pull me over. And so far in 10 years of motoring they have totally ignored me, even when I have been going a bit quick on the motorway.

"No doubt Rob you are the type that moans about how the police pick on modders and how its so unfair getting caught by speed cameras."

Not at all you PE-NARSE

I am very much in favour of speed cameras and of the police doing there duty to catch people who abuse the speed laws vus risking other peoples lives

Racing is for the Track and the 1/4 mile
you complete tool

And no I dont beleive the police do pick on proper modders at all, they certrainly dont pick on me or any of my friends in the scene.
Small boy race idiots yes, they get picked on because they cause trouble, seasoned modders who are 100% devoted to what they do like me should have no probs with the police what so ever

any thing else to ask me you fag hag?

Can't think of anything more intelligent than insults eh? So thats what people in 'the scene' are like? :)

couldn't have put it better my self ribzz! cops round my area know my car and they know that a car with that much effort put into it must be legal so they never stop me, instead they have actually nodded at me when i drive past.

jim

Why the mud slinging Ribzz? It's good that the forum is getting some exercise - but is there any need for your, clearly well thought out, insults? I mean come on, "fag hag, Pe-narse, cock, homo's". Or is that the pure modders way of open chat?
