Well today Desira decided that the oil change interval on the Twin air is 18000 miles not 9000 which it is.

The supercilious woman on the phone got well past annoyance in a very few minutes and laughed in my face when I disputed this. People who don't know what they are talking about should not be customer facing. I hereby withdraw any recommendation of this firm and suggest you shop elsewhere as I certainly shall from now on.

In any event the twin air under 6000 miles per year is definitely an oil change candidate. I will resume servicing on the older car myself and the new one is booked in elsewhere for warranty purposes.

Well done Desira service department you have lost a customer that had all the work on three cars done in your workshop for the last 10 years at a stroke when you undoubtedly need the business. Add in the frequency I buy cars adn you look as ridiculous as you are stupid. I shall nominate you for an award for your great business acumen!

Unless I've read this wrong did the dealership say the oil change interval is 18k?

I'm fairly sure that's what the original spec was/is? Unless it's been changed to 9k

I can’t say what they are like but Desira should be more careful now they have competition so close on their door step.

That said where I live they seem more interested in selling Chinese MG crap.

If fiat mileage recommendation for oil change was not what you were saying that should have been explained politely. Certainly oil change on age should have been considered.

I had it done in Kings Lynn who agreed it does require an oil change. I know that at a low mileage change is required. I was specifically told the car should have a 9K oil change when i bought in 2017. Actually was mislead about it being 18K and Fiat were apologetic. It seems they may have changes it again. No high revving 2 cylinder turbo engine of mine is going to have the oil left 18K. Basically I just want the car serviced to the highest spec and don't want to argue with anyone about it. I was paying for a service contract and really don't care if the oil change is additional cost but the service requirements have been poorly explained. I sometimes wonder if Fiat actually know anything about their cars. Desira have done a lot of good work in the past, and if I had been able to speak to the normal folk at the service department I am sure this problem wouldn't have arisen.

Net result tho, is I got what I wanted done and this negated the service contracts which have consequently been have cancelled. The new car and will now be done wherever its convenient, to get the book stamped. The others will now be serviced at home because I am not going to argue about getting the work I want done to my car when I want it! I don't like doing the work as its messy and I'm old and grumpy... I shall take a look at Motorvogue in Norwich and maybe use them.

Sorry to hear about your experience with Desira, use them for MOT as the Fiat in Bury was 2 min walk away, then we moved work and the Peugeot version is 5 min walk away! Always polite, if not a little over zealous, at the desks.
The Qubo got a hoover and washing too, no worries. Got it from the Diss branch...having test driven a different one in Norwich!
They did organise the MOT for the Ducato at car prices by mistake and honoured that--they actually took it to Anglia Services nearby who can do commercial, a good indie, who I have used directly since.

I don't know anything about them, but had planned to pay them a visit when lock down is over with a view to possibly changing my Punto in for something..... faster, maybe scorpion fast.

Certainly for first 18k it's an 18k change with a 9k inspection. I disagree with it but that's what it is. You seem to get very upset with dealers & Fiat very easily.

They were very polite, but just cannot get it that I want my car done to my standard that's higher than Fiats by a mile and I don't want to argue about the cost. I have said many times that if anything needs doing, just do it. Reliability and long service is more important than a few pounds on the bill. I get very cross when I have to keep reiterating the basics. I am beginning to think getting something from a quality maker may be a way of getting over this... but somehow I suspect it would be just the same. Maybemaybenot is of course quite right that I do get cross with them easily, but it was them that took money for a 90HP car and supplied an 85. I think its them who should now dance round me and not the other way around.

I always wanted a Scorpion, but am now far to old.

I will let you know about the Norwich lot once I have tried them. Kings Lynn lot were helpful and did negotiate a bit of the service cost and did the oil without argument. I stuill have quite a fund left over from the service contract refund towards the next one. The car is no worse for its 1st service which is always a relief after a garage visit.
