As some of you might have read, my GP has been at the local dealer twice in the last week or so and all faults repaired.

Have grinding noise off driver's side wheel when brake applied.

Brake pads replaced 36k ago due to squealing etc.

Local Fiat dealer will replace front pads for £75, supplied and fitted.

Will this be for Fiat pads ?

Thanks

Thanks Andy but I am useless at all things involving mechanics, decorating etc.

Family would pass out if I tried this. :)

Checked a few sites including this one but EBC will deliver for just over 20 notes. Just said to my wife about your guide, now lying on the kitchen floor laughing her head off :)

At least she hasn't fainted with horror

i'd get a quote from a decent independent my local who dad has used for years last serviced my 1.2 (all the filters, oil, brake strip and clean, came to £78ish) fiat was double that

(fair enough i didn't get the software updates but they are VAT reg and used OEM or equiv parts)

Andy, Fiat Ayr 10 mins from me will supply and fit pads for £75 or £125 if discs required. Don't seeing this price geting beat.

Fiat dont make brake pads, several 3rd party companies do and at the end of their production lines they go in boxes that say Fiat on them, upshot is you pay twice as much as you would for the same product in a box that doesnt say Fiat on it. For years now all brake pads sold in this country have to conform to what is known as Regulation 90. One of the requirements of Reg`90 is that all pads sold have to conform to +/- 15% of the OEM spec. This means by law there ARE NO cheap/crap brake pads on the market in the UK. Do yourself a favour and buy the cheapest you can find, they WILL be as good if not better than the originals.

Makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks
